In April 2023, ten of our students and two teachers visit Datça in Turkey. Our students expand their intercultural and professional skills through school visits, practical learning units and various cultural activities.
In the beginning of the school trip, the students visit the celebrations of the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on the 23rd of April.
In addition, our students should also gain an insight into cultural pecularities in non-European areas in order to promote professional skills in the technical field. Furthermore, students break down possible prejudices, use and expand their intercultural communication skills and strengthen their social skills by working with local students.
After the first week, our students have already made friendships with the local students. All in all, students are pleasantly surprised how friendly and helpful Turkish people are and that the schools are well-equipped as well. Some of them have already been invited to join birthday parties and other special events to enjoy Turkish hospitality.
If you want to know how the journey continues, follow us on Instagram and get daily updates.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the Erasmus+ program for funding our projects as well as Mrs Glücks and Mr Gül, the Erasmus coordinators, who made the whole trip possible.
