After the pandemic departed, the btg has started traveling and exploring Europe again. Since the beginning of 2023, we have already carried out two international projects funded by the EU program Erasmus+ for our students as well as our teachers.
Our students got the opportunity to experience Europe from a different perspective. Above all, they were able to gain international professional experience which plays a crucial role in today’s world of work.
Malta 2023
Our first Erasmus+ trip after COVID-19 was a trip to the heart of the Mediterranean Sea: Malta. In January 2023, nine students got the opportunity to experience the Mediterranean flair of the sunny island.
Our students did a ten-day internship in various companies that focused on media design located in the cities of Valletta, Pembroke and St. Paul’s Bay. They were allowed to design posts for social media channels, to design logos and to develop creative ideas for upcoming posts as well as events.
Every afternoon, our students visited a language school in order to improve their English language skills together with students from other countries.
As Malta and the smaller neighboring islands of Gozo and Comino have a lot to offer in terms of culture and landscape, our students enjoyed various sightseeing tours during their visit. We visited the islands by a ferry and were able to take some spectacular photos.
The trip to Malta was a wonderful time for all of our students, during which they not only improved their language and intercultural skills, but also surpassed themselves.
That’s why all participants agreed on the following: Malta, we are going to come back!
Ireland 2023
On our Erasmus+ trip in March 2023, we visited Dublin, the capital of Ireland. Ten of our students did an internship in various Irish companies that focused on metal work and design in order to expand their professional competence. At the same time, they improved their English language skills through communication in authentic situations at work.
In the evenings, the students explored the Irish capital. They visited famous sights like the Trinity College and the Temple Bar area.
Our students have visited various sights in Dublin. The Trinity College was one of them.
At the weekend, we visited the Irish coast around Dublin.
In addition, we learned more about the European history while visiting the EPIC museum that focuses on the Irish migration history.
The students were able to experience the preparations for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
All in all, the students learned much about the interesting Irish culture and improved their English language skills in general. We have traveled back with lots of great impressions.
